WELCOME

I'm a full-time wife and mom of two adorable boys. When I'm not busy trying to keep up with them I enjoy photography, traveling, planning parties and a little bit of reading.

In February of 2008 I was diagnosed with an incurable terminal lung illness, though God promised me a full and complete healing. While we wait for His timing, we're taking it one day at a time, and standing in awe of how God's using all of this for His glory. The tough road we've traveled has given us a new perspective on the fragility of life. Memories are more important to us than ever before. The goal of this blog is to share some of our family life - the ups and downs, the joys and probably some of the pains as well. It's mostly meant as a personal journal of sorts, but you're welcome to share in it. We'd like to take this opportunity to say ...

WELCOME TO THE FEITNER ADVENTURE!

New Year - New Resolutions

I'm having a rough time deciding what my New Year's resolution(s) will be. I'm looking all sorts of places for ideas. According to a recent poll, this year's Top Ten New Year's Resolutions are:

1 - Spend more time with family and friends
2 - Fit in fitness
3 - Tame the bulge
4 - Quit smoking
5 - Enjoy life more
6 - Quit drinking
7 - Get out of debt
8 - Learn something new
9 - Help others
10 - Get organized

Hmmm. I don't smoke or drink (so strike #4 and #6). I'm not medically able to exercise much yet (so strike #2), and that makes losing weight hard (strike #3). Making memories with family and friends is already a priority (strike #1), and last year's medical crises have given me new perspective on the fragility of life (so I'm already doing #5). ... This poll isn't looking helpful so far ... We're almost finished paying off all of our debt including my school loans (so #7 is practically done already). I am organized - though two youngsters and my lack of energy make the house frequently untidy (strike #10). I was raised to help others - it's not a new concept, or something new I need to put into practice (strike #9). What's left?

#8 - Learn something new. Hmmm. What could I learn? Backgammon ... how to knit ... how to drive stick. Ooh. Now we're getting somewhere. Julia's New Year Resolution: learn how to drive a stick shift. Aaron says he's a good teacher and has been trying to get me to learn ever since we met. Oh. Both of our cars are automatics. Anyone wanna volunteer their car?

I will gladly offer the Jeep, though Aaron won't be happy when all you talk about is "the Jeep" and trade the Saturn in to enjoy the daily "Jeep" experience.
