WELCOME

I'm a full-time wife and mom of two adorable boys. When I'm not busy trying to keep up with them I enjoy photography, traveling, planning parties and a little bit of reading.

In February of 2008 I was diagnosed with an incurable terminal lung illness, though God promised me a full and complete healing. While we wait for His timing, we're taking it one day at a time, and standing in awe of how God's using all of this for His glory. The tough road we've traveled has given us a new perspective on the fragility of life. Memories are more important to us than ever before. The goal of this blog is to share some of our family life - the ups and downs, the joys and probably some of the pains as well. It's mostly meant as a personal journal of sorts, but you're welcome to share in it. We'd like to take this opportunity to say ...

WELCOME TO THE FEITNER ADVENTURE!

Progress

Last Friday I posted that we had 41 days till the move, and 164 things on the massive to do list. Well, I'm proud to announce that we've had a VERY productive last several days. I didn't take the time to cross things off the list as they were accomplished, so I felt overwhelmed and stressed and ... just plain tired.

So I last night I went on a "stress" grocery shopping trip: chips, oreos, frozen pizza, chocolate, ice cream, pasta, soda..... I even stopped in at Blockbuster for an "escape from life for a little while" movie. Taking the evening off really helped, my motivation returned this morning.

Today a girlfriend showed up (with coffee!) and we packed 15 boxes! Another friend stopped by and brought a gigantic bag of newspaper (I had given away most of my huge stack.) We have what should be enough boxes for everything. One room is now officially totally packed. Two more are 3/4 done. We've applied for the mortgage. Inspections are completed - which means that my house can officially stay in disarray until it's emptied next month. So, this afternoon I took inventory and started crossing things off "The Mother-Load List".

Currently there are 37 days remaining.
65 things have been crossed off since last Friday!
Only 99 remain on the list.
Several of them have been begun (just not finished yet).

There's not light at the end of the tunnel, yet. But at least I'm making tons of progress! I guess I earned my tiredness last night!

I do think that this would be an easier way to move, though...
...especially since I'm not allowed to do the lifting!
Maybe next time.

I love that picture! Glad to hear you're receiving help and that your list is narrowed down.
