WELCOME

I'm a full-time wife and mom of two adorable boys. When I'm not busy trying to keep up with them I enjoy photography, traveling, planning parties and a little bit of reading.

In February of 2008 I was diagnosed with an incurable terminal lung illness, though God promised me a full and complete healing. While we wait for His timing, we're taking it one day at a time, and standing in awe of how God's using all of this for His glory. The tough road we've traveled has given us a new perspective on the fragility of life. Memories are more important to us than ever before. The goal of this blog is to share some of our family life - the ups and downs, the joys and probably some of the pains as well. It's mostly meant as a personal journal of sorts, but you're welcome to share in it. We'd like to take this opportunity to say ...

WELCOME TO THE FEITNER ADVENTURE!

Spa Night

My girlfriends are all taking turns (once a month or so) hosting 'da ladies at their house. Several months ago I blogged about the Chocolate Extravaganza at our place - and two other ladies have also taken their turns already (though I don't think I posted any of those pix). Well, last night Beth hosted Spa Night!

From the moment we walked in the door we were swept away to an exclusive members-only spa ... from the candlelight, to the soothing music, to the exquisitely delicious finger food (including Black-Eyed Susan cupcakes) and Virgin Bellinis! There were stations set up around her simply gorgeous open-concept recently-renovated twin in the heart of historic Harrisburg.

Do It Yourself Pedicure!

After a relaxing foot soak, the ladies pulled out various exfoliates, pumice stones, ped-eggs, lotions, cuticle removers, and nail polish.

Make Your Own Mask
Beth had prepared homemade masks (avocado, banana, and I'm not sure what else), and then we also used Biore nose strips. The pics of our faces covered in "glorified baby food" are embarrassing enough, that I'll spare the ladies, and not post any of the nose strip ones! I'm gonna have to get the face mask recipe (?) 'cause my face is silky smooth today!

Do It Yourself Manicure
This consisted of Mary Kay Satin Hands, a paraffin wax dip, lotions, polishes, etc. Beth even gave herself a French Manicure! By this time in the evening we were really enjoying sitting around the table and going kinda "deep" in our conversations.
It was an amazing, relaxing time. And I know we'd all like to say a HUGE "thank you, honey" for watching the kids while we had some much needed and much appreciated girl time! Beth - hats off to you - it's gonna be really tough to top your evening!
